When Elizabeth asked if I would cover an event for Great Wolf Lodge I jumped at the chance. I’ve heard about them from friends, and knew it was the largest indoor water-park, but it’s so much more. It’s a family experience and this company really values your family and giving you the best time possible.
The event was in NYC, and we got a chance to try out different activities that happen around Great Wolf Lodge that don’t involve putting on a swim suit.
I loved getting pampered at the Scoops Salon. Where Bigs and Littles can get pedicures, manicures and come away smelling delicious. When I say delicious I really mean it, our scent options for lotion were vanilla, chocolate or strawberry and they finished up with a spritz of cupcake. It also doesn’t hurt that I got a crown and sash. Everyone loves to be pampered and they really had a way of making it fun. This would be a wonderful Mommy/Daughter date!
What also surprised me was how they celebrate the holidays. They’ve got Howl-o-Ween where kids can trick -or- treat along a spooky path collecting goodies and end at a monster-themed dance party with some boo-bit scary stories. We even got to a special story-time at the event which they mentioned it’s something they do every night.
Next they transform for a month long celebration of Snowland (At all Great Wolf lodges spanning Ground Mound, Washington to Williamsburg, VA). With festive activities, visits from Santa Claus, and indoor snow showers you’ll feel the magic of Christmas. It gets better though, they’ve partnered with Just Born, the makers of Peeps, Mike and Ikes and Hot Tamales to make an edible gingerbread house inside the resort. This house isn’t for eating, but you are invited to dine inside and the proceeds from each meal will go to charity. Talk about a house build with love, thoughtfulness and sweets!
I never thought about spending holidays at Great Wolf, but with all these different options I know where I’m booking my next holiday weekend getaway with the family. This would also make a great gift for your kids, grand-kids, or great-grand kids. A weekend of memories is the best gift you can give and it looks like Great Wolf Lodge will do just that and you’ll be talking about it for years to come.
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, but attended this event as press and did receive a gift bag. As always all opinions are my own.
